COACHES/STAFF:

Here at the Georgia Aquatic Center we take pride in having all of our swim coaches educated and certified with the American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA) and with other organizations such as USA Swimming. A good majority of our coaches have had their own personal experiences whether it be swimming summer league, age group, high school, or collegiately. 

Katlyn Thomsen 
Kate loves developing younger swimmers and nurturing their personal growth. She is native to Oconee County, GA where she swam for OCHS’s Warrior swim team. She competed at the state level and also helped the team to become region champions for the 2007-2008 season. She has coached on various age-group teams and has established herself as one of Oconee Swim Academy’s most accomplished swim instructors. Kate is ASCA level 3 certified. 

Ian Thomsen
Ian is an out-going individual who loves swimming. He is a freshman at Indian River State College, where he received multiple athletic swim scholarships. He recently competed in the finals of the NJCAA National Swimming and Diving Championships doing the 200 yard and 100 yard backstroke and the 50 yard freestyle. He has been assistant coach of the Blue Marlins swim team for the past three years and is excited to return this summer!
